I used to use GiantBomb back in the day! It was an awesome site that had a Wikipedia type feature, where everyone could edit! I popped in recently and it's still as cool as it was before!

I have seen an industry that was laughable yet concise in the 90's and early 2000's turn into a pit of disinformation, a producer of chilling effects on things they deem fit. These sites have turned into welfare for the talentless and corrupt.
The very existence of sites such as this corrupt and distort the art and entertainment of gaming as a whole while exploiting social issues and manufactured outrage for profit.

Another "game journalism" site where positive reviews can be bought by doing some favours. I recommend to steer clear of it.

Giant Bomb is a wonderful Video Game wiki, news, and review site which isn't paid by bigger companies like so many others are. Because of that, they report from a reliably independent point of view, which I think is FAR more important for children than the occasional "bad word".

Great site for video game info, news, and reviews, as well as entertaining personalities talking about games in general. Well secure, and an overall great site.
In terms of child friendliness: They don't curse a lot, but occasionally there could be some F-bombs dropped. Also, nudity is allowed to be posted on video game Wiki pages, provided the image is from an in-game screenshot. There isn't anything overly sexual, and these images are used as informational most of the time, but it is possible to see some boobs or something. There's definitely other more child friendly video game sites out there.

Great site. Informative and entertaining. Content often contains swearing and both guys drinking alcohol, so it isn't totally child safe, but there is never any nudity, overtly sexual content or anything else bad.
