It's called advertising. That is how they support their site. SPAM can not be received from someone you do business with. If you unsubscribe from the site, they WILL remove you from their mailing list and you will receive no further email from them. They have never sold my email address. Definitely not spammers.
If you don't want to get their ads along with your subscription, unsubscribe.
