Is hobbyking.com Safe?

I have given 3 orders on this site, two went smoothly but one gone south. Somehow order is delayed at the warehouse for week. There is no clear reason, goods were in stock, order status changed to processing. And customer service is of no help, their only advice is patience. After a week I wanted to cancel the order because I will be leaving, and guess what? They cannot do it right away and don't confirm if they can do it. Why? That warehouse that stopped working has marked order as packing and customer service should ask them to cancel. I have no hope that wh will ever start to work and cancel the order, I guess I lost usd40+. Finally, might opinion on the site: It is not fair to say bandits, but they are close

I very much enjoy the selection of products available from HobbyKing, and their prices. However, based on what type of products you order and where you are, there seems to be a very wide variety of delivery standards, even if using premium shipping. The shipping options are constantly changing, so this comment may not apply after today.

I have made 175 purchases from this site, with only one poor experience. The volume of global sales is very high, so things can go wrong here and their. Overall, I have saved a lot of money buying from them. I did get credited for the one item that never arrived, It just took 3 months. Others revues are correct that their customer service is poor. At the end of the day, I still buy from them because they have some good quality products at a fraction of the price of other R/C shops. Buy from your local where house, and you will save on shipping. I give it a thumbs up.

This is the biggest RC online store. I have purchased there for 6 years. However, they do not offer enough information on products, counting on users to make reviews and offer technical assistance. After giving my opinion on a product, my user status was diminished. I claimed my user status back on their forum, but the topic got erased, adding insult to the injury. No freedom of speech. The owner said King is for customers, but that's only if U play by their rules. Many products i bought had no information, in order to make U rebuy them. in other forums U will find many unsatisfied customers. They have a very bad customer service, hobbyking aims on the fact that the customer is charged for shipping fee on returned items. Many duds. They make very light quality control, even i they play with the items before. They are no BBB certified ( better business bureau), because they don't meet the standards.

Very good, safe website. Never encountered a popup, only the expected banner ads. Contains affordable RC supplies and ships quickly if you choose the appropriate warehouse. The International warehouse will save you a buck or two but you will have to wait a spell.

It's a good site though if you do a lot of researching like me you will find countless stories about their bad customer service and everything else that may or may not be bad. It depends on how you address the customer service people and your luck. DO NOT get the C.S. mad/annoyed because you are impatient. Prices here are cheap and C.S. is probably cheap too so if you want a smooth day with these people be respectful. Also they will not refund your shipping if the order was as ordered ( like me...i was somewhat in a rush and there were two similar parts names i chose the cheaper one and it was the wrong one...) their policy is if what was shipped is correct they won't refund that shipping cost. -Otherwise a good site all in all, parts work and they are cheap.

Well it all went well until they sent a pair of batteries. One in the package was visibly damaged and was sent this way, it should have never been sent out since it looked bad and would have been a fire hazard if charged. Contacted Hobbyking and they asked if it was in warranty, just received it!. They said take pictures and send back and they would refund shipping. I sent back, they said nothing but placed credit on account for the battery and not my shipping cost. They then said they would not pay for defective item shipping and they never sent out replacement. Six weeks later they still have not sent replacement and want me to re-order and pay shipping again, pay shipping three times for the same battery? Customer support is a joke.

ordered and paid (value $ 65), order was written out of account. After two month no delivery. status on hobbyking site says: not paid. Telefone contact not possible (may be they've got only a tape) no reponse on my emails. hobbyking took the money and kept it without delivering ordered items or giving me back my money. hobbyking: absolutely no recommendation.

Also HobbyKing has Discussions and Forums about their products. Ask questions about technical or products. There are some really sharp guys that will be glad to help you out. Like all places, there are some idiots also but it's easy to see if some one knows what they are talking about. Rokcney

I have 106 purchases from HobbyKing.com. Sometimes the shipping is slow, but I have received all my orders, undamaged. Some of the products lack quality , but if you know what you are looking for such as batteries, they are xlnt at one fourth the price of other sites. As far as registering for an account, you get a lower price, all your info is retained for future purchases, and you get points.Privacy seems to be not an issue, as I have apps. that show who is tracking you and it is minimal. As far as concerns about their shipping policies, orders are traceable, and they have good customer service via phone and they are helpful. 106 orders placed, some have taken a while, some have arrived promptly, but I have never had a lost order. The best batteries for the money, anywhere. Rokcney

I have been ordering from HobbyKing for 2 years. Although the items came from oversees they were shipped in the time stated. Now they have a US warehouse and things are even better. I saw a video online and the founder is a r/c enthusiast from Australia and is very much concerned about the customer's satisfaction. Best prices anywhere and they stand behind them. I had two motors sent that were dead on arrival and they immediately corrected the problem. Before the US warehouse was up and running I had to email Hong Kong and they responded within 24 hours. Great for r/c hobbyist on a budget. Also read the reviews on any item before you purchase because they are honest and tell it like it is. They have saved me on numerous occasions from ordering a wrong part or if it is a new item some of the bugs have not been worked out yet. Nightflyer on youtube is also a great resource.

I don't trust this site at all! I had an item in my shopping cart and clicked on checkout. Well, I was not allowed to checkout until I created an account first! I have never experienced such a thing and this site lost my business. I should not have to create an account to purchase a $7.00 item. Also, I could not locate a privacy policy. I clicked on a footer link "Impressum" to see if that was the privacy policy by any chance. It was not. It was all about them and THEIR terms, which further increased my dislike and distrust in this site. I copied a couple of things that stood out to me in their terms "Impressum". WHY DO I HAVE TO REGISTER? You need to register so that when your parcel is shipped you can track the status and delivery details from the 'Your Account' section. But the following is the statement is on their homepage regarding registering.... "We like to think of our customers as more than walk-in shoppers. We tailor our site and offerings to better suit each customers needs. Creating an account will mean you can gain access to our exclusive pricing and repeat purchases can be tracked and awarded even further discounts." This too bothered me.... "We do not refund or replace parcels that did not arrive because they were not picked up in time or sent back to us and lost in transit or have the incorrect address." And immediately before this statement they say they are not responsible for and cannot control customs or my countries postal service. And if I have not received my package within 30 days contact my post office BEFORE CONTACTING THEM because my package may be sitting there waiting to be picked up. Again, "We do not refund or replace parcels that did not arrive because they were not picked up in time or sent back to us and lost in transit or have the incorrect address." I would be very cautious registering with this site and most definitely purchasing from this site!
