Is ifixit.com Safe?

Further to a command on this site, I had the really bad surprise to receive a letter from FedEx (the delivery company) claiming for 40euros extra charges, although I already paid to Fixit the standard international forwarding charges 30 euros. Here is their answer : "Thanks for your email. I'm sorry to hear about the confusion. We did charge you the initial shipping charges when you placed your order. When you checked out, however, you checked the box agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of International Shipment, which states that we cannot estimate nor pay any customs fees, duties, or taxes associated with international shipments." I had to paid 40 euros more of what was written : not worthwhile (french compagnies would have been cheaper) and shameful methods (it's their job to indicate you clearly what you have to paid, moreover you are informed of the surtaxe by a nice delated letter of FedEx threatening you with a trial). Of course no possibility to be repaid of anything. In one word : be careful if you're an international customer, look for local alternatives.
