This site is not at all a phishing site. After 24 hours of research about it, I found out its CEO (Aleksandar Lazinica) and owner (Verdan Kordic) have published some articles in Robotics, and they do exist as real identities. I have read their interviews. They have been in research and now have founded a publishing company. This site invites novice researchers to participate in Open-Access book chapter writings. After a VERY SHORT peer review which is useless, their submitted chapter gets accepted (I have been through all these steps), and along other chapters finally gets into an online PDF book. When we submitted the full chapter, they told us they will answer after 2 to 4 weeks. But within 24 hours they told us it is accepted: The reviewer's note read: "Good chapter. good background. Review language mistakes"... Yes this was the whole peer review procedure taken place. They even did not notice that our figures were not embedded in the Word document, nor were submitted! So far this is harmless. However, the point in scientific books and journals is their "peer review" procedures. There are other online open access journals which are fully accredited. But when a book is pretended to be scientific, without being meticulously peer reviewed by the experts in the field, it cannot be a "scientific" book. From this point, I can tell InTech company is spamming researchers who have a few publications, by trapping novice ones and enticing them to publish a book chapter at a price of 600 euros. Note that: The Book really exists The Book chapter is really proofread and published The editor really gets involved in the procedure (I have found his email, I have checked his photos from different seminars, and his photos from his Facebook account, he is the same man, also his email provided in his Facebook account matches what provided under his written journal articles... and I have checked his post and image tags on Facebook and have made sure his FB account is active and that the account is not for fooling us around... I am 100% sure he is real) ... I have contacted the editor and he answered me accordingly (although he did not address technical details)... All and all shows that some books really get published by InTech I also checked the content of several books, they were not copied from other texts (I searched thoroughly in Google), nor they were randomly generated by computer (no bots, real persons have written those books, the sentences were all relevant to each other and to the titles)... But the problem is their books are not peer reviewed. They are only personal essays. Such as websites or weblogs. But in a slick "book" format, and at a price of 600 euros (weblogs are free ;) ) The last point make this site somehow a spam system. But a very sophisticated one. Every time I contacted them, a person reached me with a different and relevant answer. They were real persons who answered me, and also who meticulously target young researchers. But I still don't know why a popular professional editor is cooperating with them? Is he fooled too? Or is the book a harmless thing? I think it is harmless. A personal essay at a cost of 600 euro, which is being pretended to be a scientific essay. Also read these ones: ***** ***** *****
