Unethical buisness practices. They call their competitor's software a hoax: http://jriver.com/jplay.html and their software changes system settings on install/uninstall: ***** "Installed as driver for Jriver MC18, and I was redirected to a site that says "jplay is a hoax, you are advised to uninstall" or something close to that. Also, my Win 8 UAC (User Account Control) was changed (I assume by the fine folks at Jriver at the same time they hijacked my computer to their hoax link), and other weird things started happening to my computer. I posted a question on the Interact forum (jriver's support forum) last night and asked "exactly what did you do to my computer in addition to redirecting me to your hoax link" and my post was deleted this morning by Jim Hillegass (I guess their moderator). Jim sent me a note, and I quote "I've removed your post about jplay. Please do not repost on this subject". Ignored my question about what EXACTLY did jriver do to my computer. HOW DARE JRIVER REACT IN THIS IRRESPONSIBLE MANNER. Clear invasion of my privacy to come through the internet, into my home, into my living room, onto my home theater computer and take over." http://jplay.eu/forum/jplay/jriver-install-message-httpjriver.comjplay.html/#p13063 "jplay does seem to be catching some heat at the moment. Foobar is apparently posting a similar message and I had to really fight to get Jplay installed on my system. For a few days every time I'd reboot the computer it would be wiped off my drive." "After uninstalling Jriver the lagspike I guess we can call it is happening every two minutes! It was happening maybe every 20 or so and only while I was watching videos. I noticed it started happening after I installed Jriver" "As a bit of an update on the lag I watched the task manager for about ten minutes and every time the PC froze up my CPU(i5 2500K) pegged at 100% usage. I restarted my PC after uninstalling Jriver, The lagspike is gone. Anyone else having this lag spike issue? Mainly with youtube? Uninstalling Jriver surely had an effect on my system. As I said before I rebooted the lag got much worse and the colors on the video I was watching at the time changed to a dark red. Makes me think that Jriver's installation/uninstallation does something with the video drivers as well."
