Is motioninjoy.com Safe?

The program itself works well but at the cost of constantly contacting MotioninJoy servers effectively allowing the developers a backdoor into your computer and make them able to install viruses and malware through it. That and it is quite literally impossible to remove once you have it, because when you install it, it tells Microsoft to go and install their drivers whenever it detects a PS3 controller. Horrible website, find alternatives to save yourself.

This program is great for using your dualshock 3 controller for PC games, if you don't have a USB controller, but very rarely I have discovered that MotioninJoy pulls up a website, but you can just close it, no harm done. EDIT: MotioninJoy does contain a trojan. The file DS3_Tool.exe runs offline and send background malicious downloads on your computer. Here's what I recommend: Install the MotioninJoy drivers, then when you get that done, uninstall MotioninJoy and scan your computer with your antivirus, Malwarebytes and HitmanPro. Download Better DS3. The developer made Better DS3 cause of the trojans from MotioninJoy, it's a safe program, and much better than MotioninJoy.

Absolument géniale ce truc est fantastique je me serre de ma manette de ps3 pour zapé les programmes télé, j'ai créé des profile pour tout, sa me permet de configuré une touche de la manette comme une touche du clavier ou de la sourie ainssi que le pointeur de la sourie que l'on peut utiliser avec les joystiques j'ai tellement galéré pour trouvé un truc comme sa je conseil a tout les utilisateur de la ps3 malgrés quelques petit souci pour l'utilisation de la manette dualshock 3 sisasix en bluetooth la connexion par cable est impécable est surtout l'installation du logiciel est SIMPLE et intuitive il est en plusieurs langues (français par exemple) et il est compatible avec xp vista et 7 je l'utilise sur win 7 64 bits xp pro 32 bit et win 7 32 bit il marche dans tout les cas c'est une véritable perle ce truc a absolument télécharger controler son pc avec une manette c'est franchement mieux niveau hergonomie que le souri (mais légerement moins précis) et surtout il permet de jouer avec absolument tout les jeux (flash pc MMO fps...) sans problème sufi juste d'assigner un boutton de la mannette a une touche du clavier ou de la sourie on peut créé uen profile de configuration pour chaque jeu et on a la possibilité de les sauveguardé, exporté, importé... on peut aussi émuler une mannette de Xbox sur le pc avec la manette de ps3 mais je ne voi pas vraiment l'utilité. ps : je n'ets pas eu de problème de port usb désactivé comme mon voisin d'en dessous mais je crois que l'on peut avoir ce type de soucis dans l'utilisation du dongle Bluetooth moi tout marche nikel sur mon pc depuis l'instalation de ce logiciel je n'est eu aucun virus et envor moins des port désactivé

While it gets good reports for some, this program killed my USB mouse. I didn't try out my PS3 controller because, after a few reboots, I decided I'd just go suck it up and buy an Xbox controller. Luckily, I had a Wacom tablet I could mouse around with. If the MotioninJoy program knocks off your mouse and/or keyboard (and you can still navigate), do the following: Control Panel > Device Manager > Click all the little arrows till you find the MotioninJoy driver. Uninstall it. When it asks you if you want to delete the driver as well, tell it yes. Then, unplug your mouse or keyboard and plug it back in with a Plug and Play device or use the installation CD otherwise. All in all, I can't give MotioninJoy a bad rating because it apparently works for some people, but unless you're absolutely desperate to use your PS3 controller for games, just go out and buy a USB Xbox360 controller. It's basically the same as the PS3 controller except for the analog stick placement and trigger buttons. It can even work in place of a Playstation controller for the purposes of emulation. -- On a side note, I used Libusb to attach my PS3 controller before, but that was tedious because I had to reset it every time I plugged the controller in and it didn't work after I switched to 64-bit Windows. Seriously. Xbox360 controller is the way to go unless you have no way to obtain one.
