Is nabp.net Safe?

I suspect bots have spammed WOT's database with negative reviews of various pharmacies and that shills are behind rating this as 'go ahead.' http://www.nabp.net/programs/accreditation/vipps/vipps-fees/ This site is highly suspect; In fact only 29 pharmacies have this mythically important VIPPS rating as of now. Do your research, and do not believe a company is important to your well-being because it says so. Google is your friend and I quote MetaDude: "NAPB is a SCAM. NABP is US pharmacy industry trade group that wants us to get ripped off by their member pharmacies in the USA. They are misleading the public into thinking only their member pharmacies are safe when there is much evidence that the opposite is true. NABP fraud, spamming and racism? ***** is THE honest place to go. NAPB is a SCAM. It is a deceptive American consortium of drug companies using WOT to scare people away from their foreign competitors. Their policy specifically notes that NO foreign pharmaceutical business that ships to the US can be "accredited" by them in "VIPPS", which is their own bogus rating system and is part of the deceptive scheme. for example UniversalDrugStore is a company with an A+ rating for over 10 years with the Canadian BBB. I am a customer, and so far I am very happy with their service and products. But because they ship to the US , they are listed as not accredited. Nearly all people who have given bad ratings are just regurgitating bogus propaganda produced by NABP and WOT, not based on actual experience. And so they, like WOT, are enablers of a successful NABP campaign of deception.

Conflict of interest? At least one of the dispensing pharmacies has been very useful to those who cannot get their doctors to prescribe needed medicines for life-threatening illnesses: AllDayChemist.com. NAPB appears to be associated to some degree with the pharma industry and people who may consider some of the foreign pharmacies a threat. No doubt many of the foreign pharmacies are scams, but let's not lump them all together.

NABP is an independent international association established in 1904 that helps its member boards to develop, implement, and enforce uniform standards to protect public health. Members include boards of pharmacy in the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. http://www.nabp.net NABP accredits USA-based internet pharmacies based upon the following criteria: 1. Licensed or registered as required. 2. Registered with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) if dispensing controlled substances . 3. No significant disciplinary sanctions against pharmacy or pharmacist-in-charge. 4. Dispenses prescription drugs only upon receipt of a valid prescription. 5. Pharmacy complies with federal and state law and does not dispense medications not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 6. If the pharmacy transmits Protected Health Information (PHI) under the HIPAA Privacy Rule (45 CFR 164), it must meet HIPAA requirements, including the use of Secure-Socket Layer or equivalent technology for PHI, and must display its privacy policy consistent with the HIPAA Privacy Rule. 7. Must provide on the Web site an accurate US street address and an accurate, readily accessible and responsive phone number or secure mechanism via the Web site allowing patients to contact a pharmacist. 8. Pharmacy must not engage in practices or extend offers on its Web site that may deceive or defraud patients. 9. Domain name registration information must be accurate, and the registrant must have a logical relationship to the pharmacy. Web sites with anonymous domain name registration will not be eligible for approval. 10. Pharmacy, Web site, pharmacy staff, domain name registrants, and anyone that controls or participates in the pharmacy must not be affiliated with or control any other Web site that violates these standards.
