Good safe website and software.

Many good utilities. Many with free versions. Note: When you use new systems software, it is probably best to use a test bed or system first, instead of deploying on a production system. Saves all kinds of problems.

On behalf of NetWrix Corporation (the owner of this website), I would like to clarify that the comment by "exehexe" is CORRECT, but that's the way some of our products are SUPPOSED to work. "User00001212" is also right, more than that, this is not related only to NetWrix Event Log Manager. In fact, several other products (e.g. Active Directory Change Reporter) also OPTIONALLY install services (we call them "agents") to do the job, e.g. collect data or perform actions. I can assure our agent do no harm and work only as instructed in the application settings. And also the usage of agents is OPTIONAL and you can turn them off completely in the product settings (however this can impact the overall performance). P.S. And of course always remember that by giving out your admin credentials or running something while logged in as admin should be always done with extreme caution. If you are not sure about what the application does it's better to not run it all. read the documentation rr try on a test system before putting to production. And of course download software only from 100% trustworthy sources. Yes, security is fun, a lot of fun ! Best regards, Stephen Schimmel Product Manager NetWrix Corporation ***** x964 www.netwrix.com

NetWrix is a reliable company. I have downloaded various IT auditing tools for free off of netwrix.com, and I have found them very useful. I recommend their tools.

The Event Log Manager application will install a service to gather information from computers/servers. And that is pretty obvious. Not reading about the application before you install it is your own fault, exehexe.
2
Excellent AD monitoring tools that we have purchased. Bunch of excellent free versions of tools they sell. Responsive & knowledgeable support folks. Friendly & efficient sales reps.
3
One of the free tools installed a service on our mission critical servers without giving a warning in advance. You can imagine how our corporate admins liked that. Don't use this crab of software!
