While searching for other software this one attempted to force itself instead. Just not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent at this juncture. Also, this one should be rated red. The lack of rating is WOT malfunctioning again.

I did not ask for this program to load, I don't use download managers, however it is attempting to install itself every time my browser opens. I don't want this program on my machine, I never downloaded it, yet it is in my programs I find that sneaky and despicable. If the program is as good as you claim it is, why is it trying to sneak around and install without asking for permission.

It is possible to be redirected to this website and various others through normal surfing. Please be careful.

**Edited to include new information ** I see lots of allegations about this site and its product but very little reasoned argument. Here's what I've found out so far : - The site offers a download manager which claims to increase file download speeds. Other places offer a download manager - even Microsoft has one. I haven't yet seen any evidence that the program fails to deliver on its basic promise. - The website carries a McAfee Secure Certificate, which means that it is tested daily for malware and phishing, and to ensure that it has a valid SSL certificate (although I feel that particular validation check needs to be upgraded to TLS, latest version). - The website documentation states that when you get the download manager you will be pressed to accept other products, either from this company or others who may be affiliated to it. This is where the money is made, of course, because mostly what you get if you're not careful is adware. That's why BleepingComputer comes out against this product. I say that if a bundled product offer is made in such a way that you can easily recognise it and decline it, that's legitimate. Even some big players (Flash, Java) try to offload extras during their downloads. -The setup program for Open Download Manager is detected by 15 out of 56 AV engines in VirusTotal, mostly as a PUP. The program has an invalid (expired) digital certificate issued by Verisign to Installer Technology Co. - My main concern about the company behind the website is its lack of transparency. It has a EULA, and a Privacy Policy, but the website has almost no information about the company and who is behind it other than that it is based in Florida; WhoIs info just shows it hiding behind CloudFlare. Contact with the company is via an email signup on one of the web pages - and that's it. No phone number, no address, nothing. That is inherently suspicious and leads to an evaluation markdown. -This company and website is part of a group of companies all apparently controlled by one individual and all based in Miami Beach, Florida. You won't find that out from the website. So, there's no malware here, but there are PUPs and Adware. The product may be legitimate but it has features which are considered unwelcome. And the company may be legitimate but withholding information about it is not going to inspire confidence.

I was redirected to this site from a link on a reputable forum, and it downloaded something without permission! Then, when I tried to leave the site, a pop-up appeared that froze Chrome! I recommend you steer clear of this site.

The file Setup_ODM.exe is now safe, however it downloads and installs the real ODM installer, odminstaller.exe. Here is the VirusTotal report on this file: ***** Here is the VirusTotal report on the ZIP archive of the program folder (after installation): *****

Do not install anything from this web site. Many tech support requests state that Open Download Manager was installed on users' computers without proper notice and that it cannot be completely removed, leaving program remnants which interfere with downloads and corrupt downloaded files.

There is no malware or virus, and this is NOT a fake download manager. This product is a full featured download manager and certified malware free, right on the front of the website via McAfee Secure.
