Site is heavily spamvertized by 3rd party spammers. It also sits behind multiple redirects such as: ***** I receive multiple spams daily that flow back to this site and all are hidden by different redirect sites. This is an indicator of a very high fraud potential and highly questionable business practices. Attempting to "opt out" through the links provided more than doubled the spam in a test e-mail box, so their claims to be "CAN SPAM" compliant are an outright lie. Another spamvertized link to another domain: *****

BEWARE!! This is a very dangerous site. My dad got tricked! He ordered only one package worth $10, and after 30 days, they asked him to pay MUCH MORE. He wanted to return, but they said that 30 days already passed and that they were going to make his credit score bad, which they obviously couldn't. They kept on sending letters. After a WHILE, they stopped. ----BOTTOMLINE---- *THIS IS A SCAM.

The official language learning site is pimsleur.com, owned by Simon and Shuster, not pimsleurapproach.com, owned by Internet Order, LLC. This site advertises via the ColocateUSA spamming network, and has a hidden domain registration. Risks: tracking and spam, credit card fraud, identity theft. Do not provide any financial or personal data.

On the facebook ad there was a picture of a really gorgeous Asian babe and says, "Watch this video if you want to learn Japanese and other languages, you have to be 25 or over!" When I watched the video... there was no gorgeous Asian babe. So disappointing.

The child safety low rating baffles me, it seems people are downvoting it on all categories, which just diminishes the value of WOT.

Be careful. You are going to end up agreeing to buying lots of their products whether you know it or not.

pays illegal spammers/identity harvesters to pimp their product, using some vague claim that they are CAN SPAM compliant. here's a tip - your affiliates, whom evidently you pay bounties to for business regardless of how they got it - are not at all CAN SPAM compliant. hitting non-existent accounts on our servers, from obfuscated servers located in eastern europe. links in these spam volleys pass through tracking/harvesting servers maintained by 3XC & iDrive Interactive/4 Play LLC - before landing at - wait for it - pimsleurapproach.com you are the company you keep, pimsleurapproach.com. if i owned the pimsleur trademark, i'd be all over you for the damage that you and your affiliates are doing to that brand. in the meantime, your claims of CAN SPAM compliance, when sent to non-existent email addresses - are indefensible.

Spamvertized STOOGE Site. Spam Distributors, Tracking & Redirection - Illegal Phishing/ID Theft Scams. - User beware. Do not become their next victim. - Site is associated with criminals by knowingly violating US Law. Violating the US CAN-SPAM Act by sending or have sent on their behalf UCE "Spam" to Non-Opt-In email accounts, violating Federal Law, which is a criminal act! ============================================================ Edited Reply to below comment: Your Site Spams, illegally. I did not request for Your Spam, You did NOT meet the requirements of the CAN-SPAM Act in YOUR Spam if you did I wouldn't have reviewed your site as such. The intended and deceitful practice of sending Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE), Unsolicited Bulk Email (UBE) is not consistent with how a "legitimate and reputable company" would do business. Their knowingly violating US Federal Law reflects poorly on their entire company’s image by associating their service (“Name”) with criminal actions.

We take your privacy as seriously as we take our own. We always want to market to those who we feel could benefit from using our products. Our marketing is compliant with all Federal CAN-SPAM regulations and we do our best to market to people in a respectful way. We hope that clears up some any confusion regarding the emails we send out.
This IS NOT Pimsleur.com. THIS IS A SCAM!

You’re right. We’re not. Pimsleur Approach is the number one official reseller of Pimsleur language products, offering the ability to purchase Pimsleur products with smaller, more affordable payments. Hopefully we’ve made that clear on our Web site (we think we have). We value our customers and are in no way trying to cause any confusion.

Even now, the section where they let the purchaser know about the 30days and will send a new product for a 30 day trial is in light grey and not so easy to read, instead of being a normal black or bold to make it noticeable. Also, They should state that they are not affiliated in any way, shape, or form with Pimsleur.com, the actual site for the original products. I fully concur with AlphaCentauri's write up on this website and company.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We recently underwent a number of changes to be more transparent with our customers. For example, we’ve made our ordering process easier to understand and we’ve redesigned our Web site to highlight changes, as we’re constantly trying to improve our customer service and ensure every customer is completely satisfied. We also want to give back to the language community, which is why we’re in the process of developing a large (and totally free) language resource section on our Web site. We know it may take some time, but we’re committed to showing customers a better side and we hope you’ll give us the chance to do it. If you have any questions about our company or if you’re a customer who didn’t have a completely positive experience with our services, don’t hesitate to give us a call 1-877-802-5283 and we’ll try our best to make it right
[[ADD: As noted below, several of the issues of my original review have been addressed. The domain registration and website now are clear that they are located in Philadelphia, USA. However, I still have concerns about their use of unsolicited email marketing (as recently as August 2011 per Spamcop) and their "Rapid Fluency Purchase Program" that apparently involves shipping additional language modules that one must cancel or ship back to avoid being charged. A foreign language program seems an odd choice for having someone send you random new products for examination. (And if, as they claim, you could learn a language in 10 days, you could learn every language in the world and ship them all back for a refund under this program -- NOT!) I would still be very hesitant to enroll in a program that requires me to trust them to process a cancellation.]] =============================================================== WARNING! This is NOT ***** ***** is owned by the publishers, Simon and Schuster. pimsleurapproach.com is owned by -- who knows? They have concealed their ownership information in the domain registration. Come on, it's a business, and they don't have a business address? Not even a friggin' post office box? You can't even tell what country they're in or whose laws they must answer to. They don't want to tell you who they are, but they want you to send them money. Oh, and by using a credit card, you'll have to give them access to your whole credit card account while you're at it. Does that sound like a fair balance of shared information to you? Here's the closest you're going to get to ownership identification. In very tiny type, way at the bottom of a very long web page, is this: "Copyright © ***** Internet Order, LLC. All rights reserved. "Stroll" and "Internet Order" are trademarks of Internet Order, LLC. Internet Order, LLC sells Pimsleur products but is not an affiliate of Simon & Schuster, Inc. (the publisher of Pimsleur® products) or of Beverly Pimsleur (the owner of the Pimsleur® trademark, which is licensed exclusively to Simon & Schuster). Any use of the Pimsleur® name or associated marks is solely to identify the products sold by Internet Order, LLC. Internet Order is solely responsible for the contents of this website and sales from it." If you do a search on Internet Order, LLC, you get some interesting links: ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** That user's complaint states: "This company uses the sale of an inexpensive product to get your credit card number. When you order the inexpensive product, they automatically sign you up for a vague accelerated language program with some small text hidden below the button used to submit your order. The text below the submit button is designed to make you think it is about free shipping, but it also contains some even smaller, fainter text that signs you up for an unexplained program by default. "The unexplained program turns out to be a subscription to have more and more language CD's shipped to you every month for $236.00. When you try to return the product and opt out of the "free trial" you never knowingly signed up for, they create various problems and excuses to try to keep charging your credit card as long as they can." Let's hope the real ***** doesn't spam and never will. Do not make any assumptions about whether these spammers are trustworthy based on the Pimsleur name, because they are not affiliated in any way. In fact, Simon and Schuster and Beverly Pimsleur should follow the lead of Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Oz and take legal action to stop these people from using their name for a gotcha-subscription scam.
