adf.ly is a good software to control traffic to a website or specific webpage for it's 5 second limits and can be a way to earn money, as long as 10,000 clicks is there on your link, although this is not the best way to earn money but it is one and a downside is that this link shortening service is often associated with scams, spam, malware, etc.
This site DOES have advertisements and popups, however can be skipped. As of now, nothing is popping up right now and stays locked with a blue page. The title of the page (which i can view from the tab list) says "adf.ly shrink your URLs and get ..." while the URL is "q.gs/" making it suspicious to be misleading. This website is suspicious and the real page "adf.ly" only has ads/popup
This website is used to generate revenue for sharing links. It is commonly used in spam and/or scam operations but this is at no fault of the operators of the website and the publishers themselves.
Some of the adverts served up by this website should also be browsed with caution as they may be misleading.
Adf.ly is a URL shortener which is supposed to pay you for every person that looks at one of their ads before getting re-directed to the site they asked for. This is bad for two reasons. 1. Scammers can hide the URL they're taking you to, however, you can use "www.longurl.org" to paste the adf.ly link in and it will tell you exactly where they're taking you. 2. The ads hosted by adf.ly are malicious. One click on an ad is all it takes to have your computer FILLED with malware. The only way around this is to use adblock so you cannot see the ads, however you are still at risk of getting viruses then. Bad site.
Yes this site is annoying but it is NOT malicious. It doesn't hurt your computer by infecting you with maleware. The site does what it is intended to do and that is give a little bit of money to the people who uploaded the links. It also offers a little bit of protection to the links by masking them, meaning they will last a little bit longer before getting deleted.
If you use Firefox and have "ad-blocker plus" installed you don't see the advert only the "skip ad" button.
