Is retrevo.com Safe?

Why must one give this site their e-mail address to save a Manual for the Compaq Presario 2700 when you can get it directly [for free with no need to give out personal info] from the HP site? There is no rational/benign reason for this. Therefore, be afraid. Be very afraid of this site. BTW: Hey WOT!!! Yet another one that's truly bad that you've got mislabeled!!! grrrr!!!! I totally agree with mek8630.

This website represents another anomaly in the rating & review system. Judging by all the comments everyone's left, this site should have a 'red' circle, but instead has a 'green' circle. It doesn't make any sense. From the comments I've read, this site should have a poor rating on 'trustworthiness', 'vendor reliability', and 'privacy', but for some odd reason it has a high score in all categories. I checked 'site advisor', 'web security guard', 'browser defender', and a couple others, and it's the same story. All the user reviews are bad, except for a few, but yet they find the site safe. So the only conclusion I can come up with, is that the site owner is paying these places off to keep a good rating. Or it's all the people who aren't taking the time to give the site an accurate rating.

upon visiting this website my virus scanner picked up a Trojan virus for a false antivirus program which promptly tried to install itself onto my computer without me asking it to this is just plain wrong and a scam. I sure am glad my antivirus caught it before it was installed. to be safe I am currently running a full virus scan on my computer Rogue:Win32/FakeRean *****
