Is seagate.com Safe?

I HATE YOUR SOFTWARES WHO RUN WITHOUT MY KNOWNEDGE ESPECIALLY THIS SH.. OF SCHEDULER OR HELPERS, I WOULD TO VERIFY MY HARD DRIVE BUYED RECENTLY AREN'T A PROBLEMS, NOT BE SPYED BY YOU WITH UNWANTED PROGRAMS WO START AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT MY KNWONEDGE!!!! I HATE COMPUTER DEVELOPPERS WHO THINK FINANCIAL PROFIT IS PRIORITY THAN MAKE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION! SEAGATE SU.K!

The hard drives made by this company are vulnerable to malware that can be installed in their firmware, acording to Der Spiegel article: ***** And if they are incompetent in preventing that, whoever buys their products is also an incompetent admin, unless you don't deal with sensitive data.

According to PC Magazine, Seagate is reducing the warranty period on most new drives to one year (such as Barracuda) to three years from the previous five years. According to PC Mag's quote from Seagate, this is to "allow the money we save to be used for research and development." It seems to me that if they can save lots of money, there must have been lots of drives that failed before the longer warranty expired....

Excellent Hard Drives. Have had the same one for years, its still ticking and is still compatible with the newest operating systems. I lost my power cord and they sent me one free of charge, and my warranty expired in August of 2007. I recommend them.

After three or four attempts I was unable to subscribe from their marketing emails. When I went to the site to address this issue I had to create a log in account. Poor customer service experience. Also had one of their hard drives fail after nine months.
