Is securom.com Safe?

Has been known to cause conflicts with various software and hardware. HOWEVER, there are no "Ring 0" drivers. Securom operates ENTIRELY in user-space, which is why the Windows compatibility software Wine works fine with all known versions of Securom. Upon evaluation by hpHosts, the "EMD" classification has been removed; it is possible it was originally added wither because the site was compromised years ago or in retaliation by a rogue hpHosts employee.

Securom is provided as a hidden software spying on the computer's processes in order to prevent unusual uses of legit software. And I mean unusual because as a computer tech, I have monitoring softwares running on my computers all the time and securom loaded softwares refuse to run when these are active! Tipical behavior of malware. Some versions of securom also phone home, once again, tipical of spyware. Now, I don't care why they do it, if I buy a software, I should be able to use it the way I see fit, I'm not loaning it after all. Securom and the like are the reason why computer games sales are declining. People buy a software, cannot use it, contact the company and are treated like thieves.

Securom ist ein extrem schlechte Kopierschutzsoftware die sich ohne Wissen des Benutzers instaliert und häufig mit Störungen verbunden ist, weswegen ich mich frage welche Firma so bescheuert ist und sich mit dieser Software einlässt. Die Kopierschutzsoftware ist häufig extrem schwer zu entfernen und läuft selbst nach deinstalation des zugehörigen Spieles versteckt im Hintergrund weiter. Im Problemfall mit der Software verlangen sie, das man eine verschlüsselte Log datei, die man selber nicht einsehen kann, und deswegen was weis Gott drinn steht an sie schickt. So kann die Firma Securom ohne Propleme Private Dateien ohne Wissen in diese Log Datei einbinden und sie wie sie sagen "für Analysezwecke" benutzen. Was sie jedoch Analysyren ist unklar. Und wirklich schützend ist sie nicht. In Google gibt es genug alternativen die auch ein Spielen ohne CD ermöglichen. Meiner Meinung(dies kann man aus diesem Text entnehemen) halte ich Securom für eine veraltete und unbrauchbare Software, die sich wie ein Trojaner verhält, und es gibt genug alternativen für die Hersteller um ein Spiel damit auszustatten, und solche Alternativen sollten auch dem Käufer angeboten werden.

In itself, the site is safe. However, the product often messes up computers, is always an annoyance, and is considered by many to be malware for those reasons. SecuROM is also yet another example of a company being willing to sacrifice user experience to avoid losing a few dollars. I would recommend staying away from it.
