Is shop2market.com Safe?

I'm rating this site as "it is suspicious" because it's privacy policy is ambiguous. I am on the fence whether it should actually be rated as light green. For as far as I can see the site doesn't engage in questionable or negative activities such as malware, but they might engage in far-going online tracking. In their privacy policy they state the following: " We do not process personal data unless we need it to deliver our products and services or to run our company efficiently. We don’t share your personal information (without your consent) with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products or services or protect our rights. We don’t store personal information on servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our products or services. We do use cookies and other similar tools to help us collect and store information about you and other users of our products and services." However, later in that same policy they do also state that: "We may collect information about your computer, including without limitation, language preference, referring site, operating system and browser type. Statistical data about website users’ browsing actions and patterns does not identify any individual. This statistical data provides us with information regarding how many users visit a specific page on which our products and services are installed, how long they stay on that page, the type of content on that page, which hyperlinks (if any) they “click” on and how they generally engage with that page. This information is generally non-identifying, but if we combine it with you as a specific and identifiable person, we will treat it as personal information. Shop2market also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. We may collect other information about yourself, such as demographic information (gender, postcode, age, etc.) or certain information about your preferences and interests. If we combine demographic or other information we collect about you with personal information about you, we will treat the combined information as personal information." So how and if they "bubble" you and share personally identifiable information with third parties is at best ambiguous, but it seems they are not engaging in too unethical activities. If you are against online tracking of any kind block this. If you feel shop owners deserve the right to maximise their profits and get a better idea of their customers then do not block this website.

Some of the reported negative ratings, for example that shop2market is not listed as winner of the thuiswinkel awards is not true. They have been awarded, see: ( ***** ) So I see no problem with the site of Shop2market.
