Is smogon.com Safe?

Very rude users. They claim to be the "best" at Pokemon battling, but being the "best" includes being courteous and helpful to other human beings which this site does not fulfill. I won't mention names but there are better sites for this kind of thing.

You ever heard of the roleplaying term "munchkin"? A munchkin is a powergamer, someone whose sole goal is to win, to hell with anything but score/stats. The community of Smogon is overwhelminingly made up of these kinds of players, and the influence on the Pokémon competitive battling scene that Smogon holds makes the metagame not be fun for people like me. And they have the gall to declare any Pokémon they percieve as competitively unviable as an objectively bad mon. I'm not dissing the way they play, as it's fun for them, and the only wrong way to play is when it stops being fun. What I *am* dissing is that the general Smogon community doesn't seem to recognize that other ways of playing are acceptable too.

This is your premier guide to competitive Pokemon. I've been following this for years, and it never gave me any problems and only good stuff. To address the security concerns, I have not been hacked or anything. No viruses were detected. They can be trusted. Information wise, you'll find no better place for Pokemon coverage. People are nice (generally) and very helpful (though sometimes a tad harsh). They'll try to help you with anything Pokemon related.
