Spyware, but nothing AdBlock, Ghostery and just plain Linux can't handle. Otherwise useful gaming site.VGs are used to be brutal, so advida caution when letting your children visit gaming sites (and play the games themselves, of course).

Stub pages instead of real content, just to attract visitors for showing them some ads.

They manipulate Google results with nonsense to bring you to their site when they do not have the information you searched for. They then have links in their site that take you to largely irrelevant Amazon sales pages when they should be taking you to a discussion about a game. Pointless site.

That doesn't necessarily means that there is spyware/adware/malware. Sometimes, it's merely your browser or plug-ins that are out of date and/or unstable. With Mozilla Firefox, Add-Ons sometime interfere with webpage loading.
