This site has one author for hundreds of posts. This author, Jonathan Humes, has no Linkedin or Facebook profile I could find. Every category has exactly the same format. What caused me to completely lose trust of this site is the article on youth baseball bats. The top product recommendation is the Cold Steel Brooklyn Crusher. It is ranked highly on Amazon. But it is far too heavy to be used in youth baseball. It is for bashing things (the reviews suggest it is used for self-defense purposes). The fact that it is highly rated on Amazon suggests that this site is either generated algorithmically (which I doubt, because I did not see any garbled text) or by low cost foreign labor (perhaps via mechanical turk?). Someone who is not from a country where baseball is played could have put together this guide by copying general comments from other sites and then choosing a very highly rated item on Amazon. Amazingly, this post ranks very well on Google as do some other posts. So the site owner(s) is to be congratulated on doing a good job of fooling Google to rank highly on searches despite low quality content. EDIT: I first left this comment on ***** I just looked at the site again on 9/2/16, a year later. Jonathan appears to have changed his name from Jonathan Humes to Jonathan Maxwell. He has also been joined by a team, and the name of the founder, Ryan Morse, is also on the site, as are several other writers. Apparently, nobody is proud of their work with this site as none of them mention throughlyreviewed on the web. Also interesting is that none of these are real photos. Obviously, I think they're all fake people. I suspect this was done to make the site appear more legitimate, or maybe rank slightly better with SEO.
