Is topictimes.com Safe?

First, I don't know that much about the Internet, websites, etc. I don't know that the problem is with the topictimescom website or if it has been hacked or something. I navigated from a Google search results page to a page on the topictimes.com website. The page had relevant stuff and looked harmless. However, when I clicked on a link on that page and it took me to another page of topictimes which DID cause problems. And, I couldn't find what I was expecting to find on the page, at all. Then, when I tried to close the tab, I got a box which asked me if I was sure that I wanted to navigate away from the page (annoying in itself). I clicked that I wanted to. However, the webpage and tab stayed--clicking that I wanted to navigate away accomplished nothing. I got rid of the webpage by clicking on the "X" in the top right corner of the box, instead. At some point shortly after that, a tab popped up with a webpage for a website called fashionhideout.com. Somehow (I've forgotten how, now) I was able to exit out of it. Then, a WINDOW opened up for a website. I'm giving the complete address: ***** It was easy to close, however.
