I have used this site many times for map making i.e. Melbourne to Far North QLD. Melbourne to Portland. I have a sedan and on the Melbourne to QLD trip it took me 90 ks along a sealed road to a 4 wheel drive track. Adding hours onto an already exhaustively long drive as we had to turn back the entire 90 ks. That's 180 ks in total lost. There is basically two main ways to get from Melbourne to Portland; this map maker defaults to the longer way. I still use it as it's a valuable resource but it's information must be taken with a grain of salt.
