Yes it's a safe site, as far as I can see. But this is not McAfee, not exactly. TrustedSite used to be known as PathDefender, a company set up in 2013 by some ex-McAfee people, and it validates and rates e-commerce sites (and possibly others). But it seems to be an arms-length operation : McAfee is happy to promote it and to encourage site owners to get the McAfee SECURE shield. But it certainly is not a McAfee operation. See https://whois.domaintools.com/trustedsite.com ***** https://www.trustedsite.com/a/company There's a couple of Chrome downloads for this - one to display the shield on the toolbar, and another that lets you give a site review, just like you used to be able to do with SiteAdvisor. I personally find the relationship between this site and McAfee to be confusing and opaque, and if other people also get confused I'd be not at all surprised.
