Tutanota has an agreeable user interface and all emails are encrypted so their servers can hardly get compromised. It also features securing messages with symetric encryption (a shared password). They also fixed problems we used to have for logging in. However, you get a weak email search, poor compatibility with other webapps (eg Thunderbird), and no PGP support. Most importantly, Thunderbird told me in July 6th 2021 that their certificate is not correct. Would recommend it over GAFA but you should host your own email service on your server (see ***** for how to do it).

Shitty service! Does not have a function for new, never logged in account. It is very common that problems happen during sign-up. Usually email providers reset email accounts that were never used/accessed after creation- These guys don't get it.
