I won an auction for a 1ct. Ruby. It was not a super expensive Ruby, but the photo depicted quite an opaque stone with inclusions inside. This was fine. What I got had dark extremely noticeable surface inclusions. I compared the two and it is apparent that their photo had been doctored to minimize the severity of the stone’s flaws. The difference between the two stones was major. If that isn’t dishonest, I don’t know what is.

This auction site is attempting to force me to bid higher by using something called 'auto bid'. In this situation your bid is automatically raised whenever there's a higher bid. This means your bid keeps getting higher and higher without your consent. Illegal? Fraudulent? Someone please help me.

I won an item being auctioned off, and three weeks later received a phone call informing me the item was "lost." The item was a Talouse Lautrec lithograph I cherished, such that I'd been envisioning it on MY wall. I was very lucky to get it as I couldn't bid a lot. But the auction was for a short time and I just got lucky. The usual bidders didn't spot it apparently. I could not have bid higher. Then to receive such a phone call? They lost it? How can people sell things they don't have in their possession? I was thunderstruck at first and later felt more and more outraged. "We lost it" is not an excuse, let alone a good reason for failing to deliver. How could anyone possibly trust these people after such a debacle? I will never again place a bid with this broker. Why would anyone when they don't even know where items they're putting up for auction are located? They said they have a warehouse and when they went to get the litho they couldn't find it. How absurd is that? They should check their inventory BEFORE putting it up for auction! Thank you very much!
