Is vidup.me Safe?

Well, i use it few times and like on any similar site, after each click pop-up windows appears. I have AdBlocker+ and in the browser settings such windows are disabled, so I usually do not worry about that. But on this site they somehow still appear and, moreover, disappear for a second, I'm not fast enough to catch and close them. In short, today I caught a Trojan! It was in cache of my browser. HEUR:Trojan.Script.Generic exactly. Thanks to the fresh antivirus, it's okay now. But this is a complete loss of trust. Advertising is ok, but viruses, rlly!? This is beyond all limits. I'm not a lawyer or a webmaster, but I think for such actions a minimum what they can get is close their site, and maximum - put them in jail. Even if this Trojan is not from their site, but from the partner's site, it does not matter. They should carefully check their partners, if they do not want to lose the whole audience.

As of 2017, site is a complete scam. Tried it on so many video links and every time I click "proceed" (to video), it bounces to a new tab and creates a popover. Tl;dr created 7 tabs of popunders and still won't let me watch the video. FUCK THIS SHIT.

This site has good videos, however the site is filled with pop-ups. Whenever I click on any section of the page, it creates a pop-up to 'thevideo.me'. This pop-up takes up 50% of my computer's RAM, making it almost impossible to close the pop-up. Also, my anti-virus, Norton, warned me that the pop-up site was unsafe and was laden with security risks to my computer. If these pop-ups and ads were removed, I'd be content with the great videos on the site.
