Is virscan.org Safe?

Seems Fine. BUT Slower than VirusTotal and Jotti. Vitus Total has more scanners e.g. Emsisoft. Does include some scanners not not on Virus Total. e.g. Authentium Engines and signatures old in some cases. e.g. Kaspersky 4 months old! Lacks Right click uploader option Virus Total has. WOT says hosted in China. What does that mean for openness and security?

VirScan doesn't update some of the scanners often, both the engine and the virus database. I listed how many scanners have what virus database by month/year. On average, they are 6 months outdated. I didn't calculate the engines, but I know there are some outdated. unknown = 4 11/13 = 14 10/13 = 9 9/13 = 1 8/13 = 1 7/13 = 1 5/13 = 2 1/13 = 2 11/12 = 1 2/10 = 1 11/09 = 1 average = 6/13 I recommend VirusTotal instead, they use nearly 50 scanners and they are all 0-4 days up to date, scans both URL's and files.
