Is virtuagirl.com Safe?

Spam-advertised site, promoted by messages that promise "strippers on your desktop". These messages use ***** redirection links to try to conceal the actual site being advertised. Visiting the site triggers an automatic download of an executable file to your computer. This site should be considered dangerous and you should never try to execute any software downloaded from the site. UPDATE: [12/12/2015] At the request of the site owner, I have reviewed this comment. The comments above were written in 2011, following a short spam campaign advertising the site. I have not seen any additional spam since then, and visiting the site's homepage does not currently seem to trigger any more 'drive-by downloads'. The site's owners claim that the installer for the software does not include any malware or adware, and they do seem to have an actual business model based on sale of 'premium content' rather than adware installs. I would still recommend caution when installing this software (or, better yet, not installing it at all). There is a comment thread at Norton's Safeweb reputation site -- https://safeweb.norton.com/reviews?page=1&url=virtuagirl.com -- which includes large numbers of positive user comments about the site. Interestingly, most of the users who have posted positive comments -- many of which are very similar -- all seem to have signed up to Safeweb in order to post a single positive comment about VirtuaGirl and then never posted again. In one case, a user has left two comments, both positive: one is about VirtuaGirl, and the other is about https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/deskbabes.com, another site owned by the owners of VirtuaGirl. This pattern is typical of astroturfing campaigns, where a site owner pays for positive reviews of their site or product. The apparent use of astroturfing and the site's history of questionable practices mean that I still consider this site and the product as suspicious and potentially dangerous.

VirtuaGirl is porn software and is spyware and/or adware; this software spies on the victim's activity tracings online, and keeps track of web searches to distribute ads that would tempt a person to click on the ad. It's also adult content for showing half-naked (if not totally naked), hyper-realistic women that pole dance on your screen. And also, this site's management and owner are very appalling; they are very rude and I'm pretty sure they're very rude to others who gave this site a bad rating. Not only rude, but a bit stalkerish and creepy. I gave this site a bad rating on Norton SafeWeb and the website owner had created numerous accounts and proceeded to harass me to pieces with hateful comments towards me. And after that, one of these fake accounts started to follow me onto other websites I reviewed on SafeWeb and continued to harass me. VirtuaGirl's management and owner are quite disgusting and I don't even see how this program and this company is still in business with such a rude and creepy management. I Haven't Downloaded The Software But I Still Feel The Need To Comment On The Fact That The "WOT Trusted 3rd Party Source Is HPHosts" Especially Since Every Single (Brand New) COMPAQ And HP Laptop I Have Purchased Has Had Adware And Trojans Put There By HP Hidden Within The "HP Games Pack And HP Software Update" Software. Makes Me Wonder Who Else The "Web Of Trust" Considers A Trusted 3rd Party.
