Is visualwebsiteoptimizer.com Safe?

Edited 28th Nov. Based on https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/visualwebsiteoptimizer.com review, I have changed my rating to untrusted. This is because the server uses outdated software. The server software needs to be updated due to potential security risks. Until that has happened, I will not change my rating for this site. In this day and age of hacks, it is too much of a risk to allow such sites unfettered access. AB Market Testing site. Acknowledges retention of tracking data, but also offers ways to opt out of this. As mentioned, there are tools which can be used to remove their tracking data but for the uninitiated you should be aware that you are most likely being tracked and (potentially) targeted for future promotional activities. This site does not meet the TrusTe minimum requirements, so I have marked this site as caution for that reason.

" Clearly a Tracking Site, but with a decent Privacy Policy. The question remains: How well can they control their clients' use of the data they and their product provide? It is for this reason alone I have rated them Suspicious. Notes: 1. visualwebsiteoptimizer.com is a company that is in competition with Google doing the same things. They provide advertising and customer tracking to provide targeted ads to the visitors of websites that use their software. I found no indication that they user or are an intermediary of any kind of malware as some have suggested. If you don't want them to tract you across the internet, there are plenty of software add ons that work with Firefox and other browsers to stop this. I personally use NoScript, Avast Internet Security, and DNT (Do Not Track me) which can be downloaded from CNets Download.com.
