Is vortexmag.net Safe?

I have found various posts with fake news or partially misleading news mixed in with "clickbaity" posts such as "9 things we know" or "37 mistakes you do every day". I even found a fake news story that claims Portuguese people have a gene unique in the world, named "A25-BIS-DR2", without mentioning which scientists made this discovery, or a link to the journal paper that supposedly mentions this. The article is riddled with scientific errors, such as saying that the gene is composed of aminoacids (when in fact it's nucleotides!), and the gene doesn't even exist: a search for the gene in all international journal databases and google scholar came out empty, and all references to this gene appear ONLY in anonymous blog posts or questionable websites. I eventually discovered that this news story severely distorted the results of a 1997 paper, which doesn't say the Portuguese have a unique gene, but rather a high frequency of 2 haplotypes, both of which have different designations than the ones shown at VortexMag. I could go on and on with other misleading posts that I found at the same site. Avoid it at all costs and do not share its contents on social media!
