WOT could be such a useful thing, but its crowd-rating approach means that a lot of people with no understanding of the difference between email marketing software and the companies using it have turned it into a joke. WhatCounts has never spammed anyone. Stop killing the messenger people.

Why are people so fast to judge and give a poor rating because they received an email? It's ratings like the ones here that are hurting the reputation of mywot. I have personally dealt with this company for services and never once had a bad experience.

The "WhatCounts" mailer service is used by a number of legitimate email senders. Costco's and Pandora's emails to their customers, for instance. Several current relentless high-volume spam campaigns have an X-Mailer: WhatCounts header, but other characteristics of the spam email do not match the known legitimate WhatCounts senders I've examined -- quite probably forged. Yeah, when I went to the WhatCounts web page and saw the "We Love Email" slogan, my immediate reaction was "SPAMMER!" too. But that does not seem to be the case.

Work From Home (Mystery Shopper) Scam! You are to go shopping at these stores, and they are to pay you for your time and opinion report that you fill out, and are to reimburse you for the money you spent buying things. Gotcha!

I've been spammed twice through them. And I'm not the only one, as a web search reveals.
