I purchase two products and at the end of the purchase process it asked if I wanted to receive catalogs from the company. I said "yes", not realizing that I had just given permission to the company to charge me $14.95 per month for VIP service. I asked for a refund and they said no. I disputed it with my credit card company and filed a complaint with the FTC. Other people have commented that this company is a drop ship company, meaning it doesn't stock the products in its catalog but orders them from manufacturers when the orders come in. That's what causes the slow service.

I purchased a tool for weeding (Weed Spinner) for $20. Within an hour of use the shaft fractured at the junction of the head and the shaft. I alerted Whatever works and requested that they send me a replacement immediately along with the second Weed Spinner I purchased following the failure of my first one. I also paid for 2 day shipping on my second order. The only comment I received from Whatever works is "Have you mailed the broken one back yet" That would have been very hard to do since my second order was placed at midnight following the failure of the first Weed Spinner. The second Weed Spinner did not arrive today (2 days since ordering) and no comment from Whatever Works about the necessity or digging up a shipping box to contain a 2' rod and getting appropriate packing etc. I suggest that I could take a photo of said rod and email it to them. (no response) I did a check on the web looking for Weed Spinners from an alternate source. The Weed Spinner factory is offering 2 Weed Spinners plus an extra cutting head for $30. I would have been far more satisfied if Whatever Works had indicated that there was a 2 for offer. They did not and ordered a 2 for from the factory. The tool does an outstanding job of removing crab grass and other tough weeds very quickly. My being able to use an electric drill to power it is a real benefit since bending over repeatedly causes me severe lower spine pain. Lee
