Is wildtangent.com Safe?

This company, Wild Tangent Games, bundled a bunch of games on my Toshiba laptop.  Most of the games are not free, and have deceptive ads surrounding the website.  A lot of the games do not even work properly.Suspicious practices by this company and the bloated ad-based software on my laptop, requires me to give a yellow WOT rating for Trustworthiness.A borderline rating between good and suspicious for children.  The kids may enjoy some of the games, probably recommended for those 15 years of age and above.  However, the banner ads may taint children's (and adult's) enjoyment of the games.  Be cautious at this site!

Wildtanget includes games preloaded as trials on All new HP/Compaq computers. The games have adware embedded, which usually can be disabled by disabling the internet connection. I forgot to do so when I allowed my 8 year old nephew to play the WildTanget game "Fate". Instantly when the game was at the "Insert Wild Coin" before the start, an ad popped up embedded in the start screen. The ad was for "Vaginal Dryness" advertising a product from Pyferr. Of course the young boy saw it and realized it had something to do with Vagina's. Since he hadn't reached puberty yet, I didn't try to explain to him it meant a dried up "You know what". This is the company that claims to be making child friendly games, but still embed adult related ads within the games promoted to children. To me this is irresponsible on this company's agenda to cram ads into our homes without permission, but try to charge money for "Crappy" games, and don't bother to screen or filter the type advertising they run embedded in the games.

I've never heard of the site until my AVG alerted me that it blocked a Trojan from the wild tangent games uninstall file on Monday. Doing more research on this site, I've read both good and bad reviews on their site, mostly bad. I'll remain skeptical of viewing the site and having it on my mother's laptop again.

beware when signing up for fixed term contract. At the end of the contract money will continue to be taken from your account until you close your membership. This results in loss of privileges that attracted you to sign up in the first place. Rental terms, ie free trials are not adhered to as stated in information/literature. The site is over populated with "hogs" leaving reduced choice with other genres.

WildTangent Games has been a great site for game players for many, many years. There are VERY OLD legacy rumors that it implanted spyware. It just isn't true, but the Internet is "forever" and people believe it. It's not true. The compnay is filled with very ethical people who love to make game playing fun! This site caters to younger players. The only ones I've seen that complain about it are spammers, who aren't allowed in, and users with problem computers who refuse to get help from WT Customer Service. There are many thousands of users, self included, who have no problems at all.
