Is winred.com Safe?

HORRIBLE WEBSITE. DO NOT donate to any political affiliate with WINRED attached. You will get daily spam on phones and email and they will drain your data. They are clearly not on the up and up. They have no live person answering the phones and email you canned responses and skirt the issues. The spams state PAID FOR BY WINRED, and they say you need to reply STOP but there are over 2000 groups they give your info out to, and they have no solution or opportunity to STOP sharing info. They are a fraud and you will be harassed daily, causing financial damages, loss of work deleting the spam texts on all your devices. They need to be challenged in court and try filing a complaint with the attorney general in Arlington VA.

If Winred wants me to answer your many surveys, I should not have to donate each time. As an American citizen who cares for our country and is on a fixed income, I should be able to answer your questions. If this is only to raise funds and don't care about my opinion, then take me off your list.

This Republican fund raising site has engaged in deceptive "dark patterns" to con unwary seniors out of their money, not to mention having violated Federal law regarding its fundraising reporting. Basically, these guys are crooks. See: ***** ***** ***** *****

I donated and discovered that my donation was monthly instead of the one-time donation I had intended. I had to figure out how to get it turned off. While it wasn't exactly a scam, it came close enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth. I don't trust them.

This is not a reputable organization. It is the money collecting machine for the NRCC and NRSC and is listed as a for profit donations site. Once you enter any contact information you will be relentlessly spammed to your cell and email address harassing you for more donations. Their providers are cloudfare, aws, rebrandly. They will not honor any requests to stop receiving their solicitations. While they might be operating just within the law they are their methods and message context are the same cut of cloth of a TV preacher, and are cultish in nature. While I am not a Republican I because of a lack of a better choice vote Republican. I apparently signed up for some information years ago and been harassed and plagued by daily unrelenting spam every since. Winred, NRCC and NRSC condoned by the RNC have only made my resolve to stop any support, donations, and vote for any GOP candidate or activity. AWS referred me to rebrandly to request stopping the 2x day spams to my cell phone and they will not respond, acknowledge or confirm I have been removed, and the daily spammings of my cell continue, with the most audacious unreputable and uncredible claims for donations. I even went ahead to go as far as to have a law firm send a cease and desist letter but the daily deluge of their political drive have not stopped. My advice is stay away from any contact submission to Winred, NRCC NRSC and RNC other wise you will give up the sanity of your cell number and email address. My recommendations if you fall into this political harassment and coercion for donations to report it to the FTC, AWS, Rebrandly and Cloudfare. And search for telemarketing abuse and report the numbers to the Law firms collecting unethical practices who will send out a cease and desist letter. This is cultist, extremist, obsessive, persistent and intrusive invasion of your privacy, personal property and sanity.

As with any site promoting one political organization, this site is open for promotion or criticism based on political affiliations. WOT is designed to evaluate sites irrespective of political bias. 16 ratings - 13 rating it 5 stars, 2 rating it 4 stars, only 1 rating it 1 star, average 2.5? Something is amiss here.

It's legitimate trustable donation site for most Republicans. Don't listen to the negative rating from the sabateurs. Demorats are the scammers, thieves, and criminals of Democracy. When you donate, just uncheck the unweekly subscription if you don't want to give it weekly. It is checked by default.

I have made all my donations using this site with no difficulties. Do be cautious about the prechecked boxes. However, they are well-marked. As with most of those of us who love our constitution and pledged to defend it I would have loved to quadruple mine. I am also retired on a fixed income as are many of you reading this. Let's make and keep our great republic greater.

This is a safe site. It is a politically Conservative website, so maybe Liberal "Progressives" (WOT?)are indicating the site if not trustworthy? Like all political contribution websites, be careful about "boxes" that are checked by default that you may wish to uncheck.

This is a totally legitimate site for political donations to Republican candidates! I've used it numerous times over the years with no issues whatsoever. Just make sure that you uncheck the boxes for automatic recurring donations if you choose to make a single donation only.

WinRed is the site used by the RNC, RSC, and Republican candidates. Note the comment below regarding the box for "Recurring Donations" defaulting to "On." This isn't the only donation site that does that, but I don't like it in any case. I did miss the recurring box (being set on), but they refunded the over payment with no problems.

This is simply the #1 Republican National Committee donation site. There's Nothing Wrong with it, but use caution when reading about Repeating Donations, as that box is preset to make it a monthly contribution. See Comments, below. I'm suspecting that WOT is a socialist left-wing organization, and WOT is constantly labeled as a "poorly rated browser add-on" by AVG Internet Security.

WinRed is the Republican answer to "ActBlue" to facilitate small donations to various Rep candidates and committees. Often the candidate or committee use of the site will have the box for "Make this a monthly recurring donation" pre-checked. So you need to be careful to see that box and uncheck it if you cannot or do not want to make it a recurring donation. When 2 or 3 times I had missed that box, I got an e-mail from the candidate or committee a few days before it was repeated, warning me that the repeat was about to go through - so that I could easily cancel the repetition. If user "cicada513" or any other user finds that the repeat went through after the fact, the site states that it can be reversed by contaqcting the site directly.

I never, ever hit the recurring payments option, but both times I donated it changed me to recurring payments anyway. Unless they change their donation site ASAP, they will not be getting ANY MORE MONEY FROM ME AT ALL! Corrupt business practices, for real!
