It's what you'd expect from a website that offers free music downloads. There are a couple traps, but if you're careful, you shouldn't have any problems downloading music from this site. Once you've found the song you want to download, you should see two options -- "Play" and "Download." "Play" will open the song in a little Flash player on the right side of the screen. No problems there. "Download" will take you to a sort of intermediate page (I call it the "mrtzcmp3 purgatory") where clicking on the wrong buttons will take you to a page that will try to get you to download some sort of program that I'm pretty sure you don't want (I'm not brave enough to download it and find out for sure), whereas clicking on the correct buttons will lead you to a clean mp3 download.
Here's what you need to know, once you've arrived at the mrtzcmp3 purgatory:
Do NOT click the big, green "DOWNLOAD MP3" button; that will take you to the page with the potentially (probably) unwanted program. Instead, find the little drop-down box that says either "With Ad.fly" or "Without Ad.fly." (On my screen, it's below and to the right of that big, green "DOWNLOAD MP3" button.) Select "Without Ad.fly" from the drop-down box, then click on the ">>>>" symbol above it. This will take you to the real download page. You'll see a list of servers. Select one to download your mp3. (The main server seems to work fine.) Done.
mrtzcmp3 has been changing their website rather frequently, as of late, so everything I've said above could change in an instant. The point is that you can get clean mp3s from this site, but you need to be careful.
LOL I was very confused at first but when you find the music, you just click the down arrow (download button) then a screen pops up... go all the way to the bottom and click skip ad and you'll get a download link. you dont have to download a virus.
This website is great for finding specific songs. It acknowledges and warns the downloader that unless [he] is downloading the music for previewing purposes only and deletes it within 24 hours, it is considered illegal (pirated) material.
While I doubt that stops people from using it for that reason, it is a very responsible and commendable warning by mrtzcmp3.net.
No trackers whatsoever.
