Intelligent design continues to be under fire. An example has been called "Abraham's test". A prestigious research laboratory at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in Massachusetts faces a $500,000 lawsuit after firing a Christian biologist for rejecting Darwinism.
Dr. Nathaniel Abraham, an expert in developmental biology and zebrafish had said this: "I don't think God needed to reinvent the wheel every time. Just because certain animals share similar parts has nothing to do with whether one was an ancestor of another."
When dismissed he said, "We (that is his pregnant wife and he) were thrown out on the streets. I didn't have a job. It was the first period of our lives wandering place to place, we couldn't pay the rent, we lost our apartment, and had to stay with friends."
Secular academia has very little regard for intelligent design. If scientists were true to the scientific method, the conflict would be seen as a worldview closed to other possibilities, not just science vs. religion.
The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is dedicated to research and education to advance understanding of the ocean and its interaction with the Earth system, and to communicating this understanding for the benefit of society.
