Great site & app! This domain may have been something else before, but now it's for a free app to allow anyone around the world to communicate with one another. Safe site, safe app, great team.

Oh my oh my! The volume of data this collects is just sickening. Perhaps they could add a DNA test on our kitchen sinks too? Wow wow wow! It also merits a "Scam" rating because people think that they are signing up for communication. Since most dolts don't read they whip past all the terms and have no idea what they are getting themselves into. This is being edited to indicate that this is about the new site- who also made the mistake of buying a previously soiled name. Until they straighten up their act they can expect more red flags being thrown.

@apollo702.... I would appreciate a reconsideration. We have modified our Privacy Policy fully (in non-legal speak) to explain what we collect and why. This can be viewed here: https://www.yo.com/#!/privacy-policy This new policy is being propagated to existing app users and it contains exactly what is collected and what each of the phone permissions are used for (e.g., we need access to your camera because you want to take a picture with the app). The short answer: if you want to operate entirely 'Off the Grid', you can. In other words, if you want to limit certain functionality, there is nothing that would ever come to us or pass through our servers. Registration is not required, and communication with our servers (even anonymously) does not happen if you don't want it to. I hope these changes are sufficient to get your trust rating.
This is a website that promotes a messaging application for mobile devices. I do not see anything that would suggest it is unsafe.

***** is the website for a mobile app service that allows people to share and communicate without the internet - benefiting millions of users in the developing world.

It is clear this website belongs to a reputable company who are using it to promote a completely valid product - a mobile app called YO!. They apparently have the misfortune of the previous owners using the domain for less honest reasons (spam and such), but this is definitely not the case under the current ownership.

Site has changed since it was originally looked at.

It looks like the spam/scam comments and ratings relate to a previous version of the website. The current site is for product pre-launch and seems legit to me.

The site has recently changed hands and has been good ever since.

Amazing site. Looks great, no bad content found here.
3
Site is promoting a cool new product that can really make a difference if it succeeds

We recently took over managing this domain name and have relaunched a new business on the URL. Any rating given prior to June 2014 is out of date and not reflective of the current site.
