Le site belkin.com est-il sûr ?

Years ago when I was a tech rookie I had some piss-pot-poor products from them and they were absolutely not helpful with any of the problems. Years later I learned that they were caught red-handed faking their own reviews. At this rate they may as well change their name to Bilkem'

I have 15 years experience as an IT Technician and before that more, as an amateur. I have never seen such shoddy products as Belkins, over a long time, and with much patience towards the company. The company's business model seems to be as follows: 1) Refuse to invest enough in R&D for a product. Market it anyway. 2) Refuse to invest enough in QA and Testing before green-lighting the mass-shipping of said product to retailers. 3) Refuse to make proper firmware updates or solid drivers in the first place, then refuse to offer updates based on investment in a technical team and lab-testing. 4) Wait until enough customers have been annoyed severely, then pretend there's no problem and that it's CUSTOMERS' tech ignorance that is the issue. This is the 'lying' part that makes it a scam. 5) Finally, and not in 100% of cases, cave-in, admit that there's a major issue with your product, then state "but if you wait, we will release a driver/firmware update that will solve the problem". Whilst doing nothing about the problem to the required level to solve it (maybe some minor fixes and introduction of NEW bugs, but often not even THAT). 6) Sit back and watch the money roll in as confused customers email tech support and are not told the truth about the problem, whilst eventually being bamboozled into giving-up and forgetting to get a refund, embarrassed that they're not tech-savvy enough, when it's Belkin who're not tech-savvy enough. 7) Repeat with probably most of their overly-cheap and overly-nasty products. I've seen this time and time again, so I've allowed for benefit of the doubt. Now, I tell clients to avoid Belkin like the plague. 8) Even their own products trying to connect to their own website, fails. When this is for a firmware update that probably isn't even going to improve things, and the ignorantly-designed software can't even give a 404 error so you know the site has removed the support for it permanently, then it's really unethical and incompetent. 9) Knowingly making your whole business model profitable solely by unethical behaviour? I think I ought to rate this website more harshly, if anything... Do a web search for the issues I mention above, or just for reviews of Belkin products - you'll find plenty of evidence for my claims. Sorry forgot to add that due to their simplicity, and probably being manufactured somewhere different to their electronics, Belkin cables are OK and not subject to the lies.

One of the few technical/equipment sites I've visited recently that handles printing of forum and articles from your browser well. Too many sites assume everyone uses IE and codes the pages in squirrelly manners that do not render well for printing in non-IE browsers.

Reading around I found that Belkin has been tweaked to send for review units with custom firmware and pay reviewers and bloggers for reviews with high marks. Well I'm one of those chickens that bait.
