Le site cnet.com est-il sûr ?

I downloaded a free audio converter from cnet.com that says "cnet certified" and next thing I know a bunch of nonsense is being installed on my computer that I didn't ask for and my harddrive is running audibly and my CPU monitor is showing 8% cpu usage while everything in my task manager is showing less than 1% total. I spent the following 2 hours searching for and removing viruses. I didn't even get the program I wanted AND viruses, I ONLY got viruses. Will never use cnet again.

A once trustworthy site is now a complete pit of snakes with an ever increasing number of programs infected with adware, spyware, junk toolbars, bogus reviews... One could go to reputable sites and get the exact same programs without the sleaze. Until they clean up their act AVOID CNET!!

They have a good website, but I sometimes find it to be a little confusing. When you go to the page to download whatever it was that you wanted to download, you click download and it redirects to another page and then before you know it you have downloaded something else instead. You can go back and finally figure out what happened and delete what you got that you didn't want and then download what you wanted to start with. I have done this a couple of times.

***** used to be a good site for downloads. But now, they are prepared to bundle malware and adware with their downloads just so that they can get some more money. I used to like them, not any more. I recently tried to download a program from here and I almost installed Snap.do, I would have done that if I hadn't been so careful with my selection. Read through the installer VERY CAREFULLY, or your computer might end up infested with tons of malware. I have permanently blocked the site entirely, as well as download.com. Stay away from it...

this is the 4th time i download a program from them that is malicious, this site should be blacklisted, they contribute to malware spreading even a .exe file i downloaded changed to a shortcut to visit another site bad site, try getting stuff from the original owners site
