The site is useful, no doubt about that, but not necessarily child friendly and since it isn't government controlled or regulated, or by the BBB or anything like that, it's not like the posters have any compunctions to remain genuine. A lot of scams go on here as well as a lot of good and legitimate deals.
Full of faggot whores selling their bodies and is the most nonprofessional website I have ever seen in the year 2011. No images at all: all plain Times New Roman text on a white background. Nothing appealing, full of stalkers, full of scammers, full of hookers, and full of garbage that should be in the dump.
Its not 100% of the sites fault but scam mail is extremely high. Craigslist does warn you and tell you what to look out for in order to avoid scams, but after posting an ad for a computer I'm selling my inbox received 2 emails from actual buyers and id say over 15 from people trying to scam me.
The best thing you can do is to play it smart no matter how much extra money people throw down on your items. Avoid anything with the words PayPal, checks, and bank. Also pay attention to the wording of the email. If the email says "I'm interested in your item. Whats the final price and condition" stay away. Notice the word "item" was used and not the actual name of the item you're selling. I've also noticed that the grammar of the average "scammer" is fairly bad. I personally keep a junk email for places like this. I hope these tips help you stay safe. Remember if it sound to good it probably is. Its also good to make a profit off of your sales rather than someone stealing money and your selling item.
