What this really means is that Dermstore sells their customer's addresses and phone numbers (at the very least) to Subco, Inc., which is a clearing house. Subco, in turn sells every customer's info. to another clearing house/ marketing company. If you contact Dermstore customer service they will deny any involvement with this magazine scam, but they are indeed profiting off of selling their customer's personal information, which is why Dermstore does not offer customers the option of refusing the "free" magazines. Go to dermstore.com and add any item to your shopping cart--the "free" magazine subscription will appear in your cart and you will see that they do not give an option of rejecting the so-called "special offer". They have a refund request form they claim you can send to Subco to be refunded the value of the magazine; however Subco will give you the run around and claim you haven't submitted the required documentation, or that they have been unable to locate the order, even when provided with the actual order confirmation from dermstore. Another gem they like to throw out as an umbrella excuse is the good ol' nugget, that the offer is valid only "while supplies last".
