Experian's 'Free darkweb search' required me to submit my PII (allowing only one email and phone) and then made an unsubstantiated/non-specific claim that an email address of mine is ‘somewhere on the darkweb’ !?! => the promise to find your exposure on the dark web is apparently an advert & sales ploy, not a public safety or even client safety program. Its function is to sell services, but I infer that it will not protect, or even inform me in any way that will extricate me from that potentially dangerous exposure.

Always read the fine print when purchasing anything with these people. They hide in the fine print that you're actually signing up for a trial that turns into a monthly payment plan. Just better not to give them any payment information in my opinion.

I take screenshots. I record conversations. Within minutes of signing up for a free trial, they charged my card the $1 for the 7-day trial AND $39.95 on my card AND the screenshot states $21.95 will be charged AFTER 7-days--NOT $39.95. ANYWHERE ON ANYTHING. Calling and stating I was reading from the screenshot and recording them, they say they have cancelled everything after saying "no" originally. Now they say I have to wait 3-5 days to get my money back -- even though the charge is just pending and could easily be released at their end. S-C-A-M

EXPERIAN is one of the big 3 credit reporting companies. While there are much better methods of calculating a persons credit-worthiness, we are stuck with the mess we have. The company itself and its website is safe. For those posts that say not to do business with them; you really have no choice if you have credit of *any* kind. Your bank or car dealer actually does business with the credit reporting companies.

Beware - this service has one of the sneakiest hidden sign-ons to a recurring service I've ever seen. The $1 credit score actually signs you up for a $20+ per month credit monitoring service mentioned nowhere in the process of submitting your billing information. (The only place I've seen it is in a separate box in tiny font below the big ad on the front of the site, and at the top of the screen when you actually log into your account, long after you've paid. They're very deceptive about what signing up gets you into, you have to call to cancel, and they are not willing to refund the charge for an unused month.

Very bad experience, Firefox and Chrome failed to create account, after entering all the info it said fail, call. So I tried internet explorer and setup the account for $1 but later when I tried to login it said password was wrong, and the reset password did not know my email. So I called and the account was suspended. I was able to activate again and login with the temp password and change it. But that phone call changed my mind about this company. The automated password recovery was impatient, asking for info then immediately saying "are you still there? I don't understand." and in the end it said "say rep for a rep goodbye" There was no way to cancel that I could find on the website, you have to call. The guy I spoke to was the only pleasant experience with this place. I put suspicious because any company so callous in customer relations cannot be trusted. And because the 'my account' page does not even bother to say to call to cancel, I found that searching the help. Experian is rude, misleading, suspicious.

This site lures you to pay only $1.00 for a credit report then enrolls you in their membership for $21.95 per month! You have seven days to opt out of the monthly membership fee IF you saw the fine print on the website to do so. By the time you receive your credit card bill and call them, they have scammed you for $21.95 and they will not take the charge off. You are taking a big risk if you use this site.

This service advertises a $1 one-time credit score. During payment you are forced to sign up for a monthly subscription for continued credit reports, and other services. This monthly subscription is currently $21.95. You are unable to deny this subscription. Customer service to remove this service is poor. Information on channels to remove this service are only indirectly provided after the first subscription payment is made. This subscription charges extra money for services provided by the company for less on a single term basis. This issue is a reoccurring customer complaint to Experian that has not been addressed. You are unable to receive a reimbursement for the charge after it has occurred, regardless of use of the program. I received an email from them about a SUPPOSED "Dispute" that I have NEVER filed. Asks for SSN# right off the bat at the link DO NOT TRUST!

Though they are one of 3 agencies that have a monopoly on your credit history/future, their scoring practices are questionable. How come we as consumers do not have access to our own credit scoring and profile records. Not talking about the free credit report but the actual data and how your score is computed. Why are they allowed to have a monopoly on this data? Why do credit checks even count against you? We need to DEMAND THAT THEY REFORM THE CREDIT SYSTEM. Write to your congressmen. Consumers need more control over what affects their future.
