Le site facebook.com est-il sûr ?

Good social network site. However can be deemed inappropriate for minors who can create an account by falsifying their date of birth. Some pages or profiles may contain content of a mature nature which is inappropriate for youngsters, although the site does offer strategic protection of users data; but this must be implemented in the correct way by the user. Profiles are protected from search engines unless the user requests their profile be flagged for indexing. All data that the user submits to the site, is in the least visible to their direct friends. Caution and common sense should be practiced when submitting info.

As you can see below; There are many issues against and for Facebook. My Opinion, It's almost like myspace, there are chances you may get sent spam, you may get malware/virus's(Only if you click on a link; other then that i don't know how you would get a virus from facebook) For teenagers/children; Just have to configure the privacy options and watch out for the "stalkers/predators" that may contact anyone that looks interesting. With social networking you would need social authentication; so make sure you know who you are really talking to on facebook. For the applications on facebook; there are some friendly apps and some not so family friendly(as in not for your teens/children). I have yet to deal with the problem of running into pornographic material on this site; although you may find some pictures close to it in someone's profile. There is an option to block/report people that are being "rude" to you. The site is run by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook has been around for 5 years now.

I don't really like this site but I have a friend here and this is the only place we can connect. This site is invasive--I don't really trust them. NOT for kids...there is nasty stuff here--porn-spam-browser exploit-adware...just not really a good safe site...but if I don't give it a good rating--I can't chat with my friend....this site really sucks big time!!

I find the site to be very useful and informative. I have already connected with some of my classmates. I updated my internet explorer. It has a feature that allows you to control information being passed from website to website. I simply clicked on don't share info and now feel comfortable when I click on an external website here on facebook.
