Minimum age for facebook users is 13 years old. Children should use this site with caution and parents should explain them the risks of putting private data (textual and visual) on the internet. Although facebook puts everything in place to prevent internet bullying, parents should be aware that this is still possible.

Former Facebook employee recently admitted that Facebook purposely pushed news stories aligned to the companies' political stance to being "trending" while suppressing stories that they disagreed with. Facebook is allowed to hold whatever political position they want but they should be honest about how they manipulate news feeds. I have the same issue with Fox News claiming to be Fair and Balanced but having Donald Trump on several times a week.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that many people can and do use the service of facebook for good, just like a venom milker collects poisonous snakes' venom for good. However not many people are facebook-milkers. I'm sure a venom milker would not take an irresponsible person with him to work each day, as the risk would be unnecessary and just too great. But that is exactly what facebook gets many people to do. This site managed to get loads of people to post personal pictures, video and messages about themselves and others on a centrally controlled platform. I read Richard Stallman's view of contributing on social media. I view him as a face of free as in air software and I took serious note to alter my lifestyle accordingly. I had a POOR customer experience: The site gives you very little control of your info, such as your face posted on images, your name, life, basically any part of you that is invaluable, and ultimately your sweat to be cool and acceptable makes the facebook empire very rich. If I had to compare it to some other industry I would use gambling, instead of using bank owned notes, you are using your time and giving personal things that matter to the dealer in front of the locked in device, and the thrill is really addictive, you are led to believe that if you just follow people more, post more, accept the right people, then you will experience being deeply connected. It doesn't work on that level. Unethical: You don't have a choice whether you will be spammed or not. Every single person on facebook linked to you is allowed to spam you whether you want to be or not. Group dynamics dictate that you won't be able to significantly improve all your contacts' spam activities to acceptable levels. I hate ads that follow me around, yet facebook expects from me to pay for data to download the stuff each time I log on. I would like a clear no ads, no intrusive cookies, no tracking, no machine learning my habits. Give us simple one click freedom from being followed, because I would much rather have you walk next to me in trust. May God forgive our sins of omission, cowardise and compromise

Facebook is a good way to stay connected with Friends and Family. You can connect it to various other social networks and many business maintain a presence on it.  I have used it over the years off and on and have no major issues with it. You can play various games on it and join groups for various subjects. I belong to a few Web Dev groups and even local sales groups. It's basically a community of its own surrounded by many many many other communities.

I am a hard critic so naturally I gave Facebook lower ratings than most, and here's why. Facebook cannot be trusted to uphold their community guidelines. Sure, they'll make sure everyone has an account with their real name, but if you report something such as uncensored Beastiality, even though pornography is clearly against the rules, they'll tell you it's not against the rules and thus will leave it be for all the children to see. Not to mention they have NO moderation for spam. If you see spam, they allow you to hide the content or block the user, but no option for them to review if the person is legit or just a spamming troll. For that reason and for other reasons as well, I do not recommend Facebook to anyone under the age of 16, at least not without parent supervision. There is a lot of questionable speech, activity, and people on Facebook. It is easy to get cyber-bullied and manipulated by others on Facebook especially for young ones who may not have the full confidence or even knowledge of blocking and reporting yet. The pluses though are that Facebook doesn't bombard your user experience with ads. The ads are placed in convenient locations templated into their website (no overlays or ads that mess up the website functionality itself). Not to mention Facebook is relatively safe in terms of malware and viruses, as long as you're not ignorant enough to click on links from people you aren't familiar with or links to websites you've never been to before. But the customer experience and moderation of Facebook leaves much to be desired.

Ce site est bien, mais il faut être très vigilant, le contenu n'est pas totalement fait pour les mineurs, certains le sont, mais d'autres, bien que c'est interdit par les règles, ne le sont pas, soyez donc prudent si vous êtes mineurs, comme moi, n'acceptez pas n'importe quel ami, acceptez seulement les personnes de votre famille, des amis que vous connaissez bien, et éventuellement des personnes que vous connaissez sur internet depuis assez longtemps, et qui vous à jamais poser problème. Pour la fiabilité de contenu, c'est pareil, il est parfaitement possible que des hoaxs soit partagés.

Мировая и самая крупная соцсеть. Детям там делать нечего. Да и взрослым ценящим свое время - тоже. Это глобальный пожиратель Вашего личного времени! Однако... В целом сайт пользуется доверием, даже что-то фильтрует, однако 100% защиты от нежелательной информации не гарантирует, поэтому, повторюсь, детям там точно делать нечего. В таком мировом "котле" варится огромное число людей разного типа, контакты с некоторыми из которых встряли можно отнести к числу желательных и полезных. Иногда напрягает реклама. Но с целями и задачами которые ставились перед этим сайтом объединить людей и что-то еще - он справляется на 100%. Общая оценка сайту 5 ..по безопасности для детей - 3
