Fark is a link aggregation site, similar to Voat or Reddit (however it pre-dates said sites). The main focus of Fark is sharing news articles and exaggerating their headlines, you will typically see people sharing articles from BBC, Fox News etc. The community is hilarious and odd - its userbase's humour generally focuses on satire, sarcasm and photoshop (the latter of the three being a very active part of the site). Though you will occasionally see NSFW content posted here, it's, for the most part SFW. All posts tagged as NSFW can be filtered out in the user's preferences if they don't want to see anything that isn't SFW. The humour of satire and exaggerated headlines will be lost on most young children, but as the NSFW links can be filtered out, that's pretty much the only thing on the site you wouldn't really want your children looking at. Great for adults and older teens, wouldn't suggest for young children.

If going to an external link, the user will get mocked, asking to fix their JavaScript settings. I don't know why, because there is no reason to enable JavaScript for those links. ***** takes you to the external link anyway, and you don't even get interstitial ads through external links like Wikia. Users disable JavaScript to protect their computers from pop-up ads and drive-by downloads. Webmasters should respect this.
