Le site fileinfo.com est-il sûr ?

this site doesn't know what it is talking about when they warn you from removing the vir extension (fine) and at the same time, IF YOU WANT TO OPEN THEM (not manually!) urge you to REMOVE them through antivirus program! The downloadable file Viewer IS NOT THE SAME AS Free File Viewer that could be recommended instead (I use it frequently without any problems) McAfee warns for that page of the site. Pianosa below says this about the file Viewer (connected to the original downloading site): "This is not a straightforward download of a free program. The program that is offered is wrapped in a downloader that will install other unnecessary and unwanted rogue software items on your computer. Avoid." In spite of that he marks the fileinfo.com site as good although it offers you to download the very same Viewer!

There is a download button on this website that my chrome browser reports as malicious and blocks the download of. This makes me suspicious of the entire website. The download button tries to download the file and chrome blocks it "fileviewer_d5023377.exe is malicious and Chrome has blocked it."

comment i keft on ***** on ***** Pros:IMHO, this site has been one of the better reference source for researching file extensions, including alternte info on file types; even more so, with the use of it's widget. CONS: This site steadily is becoming untrustworthy by including ads for Free Files Viewer-(which hasn't been updated for years) & suggesting-misleadingly- that "free files viewer" is some type of UNIVERSAL FILE VIEWER? This is how one ad reads: "NEW: Open .BS7 files for FREE with File Viewer" A bs7 file ext. is basically a set of image files used to customize Windows7 boot screen. It correctly gave links as to the default software tor manipulating these file types -i.e win7 boot updater((http://www.coderforlife.com/projects/win7boot/)... then instead of suggesting alternate s.w i.e paint shop pro- it suggest using free file viewer which doesn't open media nor images! ,,,for shame!! Sorry to say, because of this, i've lost confidence in this site, and as such, i feel compelled to send a copy of this comment to WOT. Which this practice could be ceased, alas, i understand your need to advertise-but free file viewer is not suited for a site such as fileinfo.com8/8/2013
