This site is known to distribute PUPs. However, they only affect PCs because they tinker with the registry. Macs work with Funmoods but don't get viruses from it!

Got this from cnet ***** in spite of checking the boxes stating that I DID NOT want the funmoods toolbar, it installed anyway. here is a good video showing on how to remove this scourge ***** , the video along with malwarebytes anti-malware helped get rid of all traces of it. Stay away from funmoods at all costs.

Checked for malware... A BUNCH from this site.

Blends search results, so paid listings are more similar to organic listings in their page. Sends out threats for informing people that they are listed as Potentially Unwanted Application in ESET db, also, by MBAM and Spybot S&D. Does not uninstall its search engine while running uninstaller, thus additional steps might be needed.

I downloaded this by accident, but i don't think its that bad. my kid like to send those smiley faces to his friends (we share a facebook page, only way i agreed to him having one..) I contacted their support to see how to remove and they were very courteous and helpful. Also, i read their terms of service and they are completely transparent and not withholding information. I think its just fine.

O Nonesuch, Soapbox, Cheater87, Fnaq, evilfantasy, you are all quite correct. Funmoods is one of the most annoying sites I have ever encountered! The rest of you, Tamirfathi, Mingo34, MarRod, garlicbing, gadi1357913579, andy_tanti@hotmai... , benrecfree... I had a look at your WOT profiles. You are ALL ROOKIE members, who have your information set to PRIVATE, so no one can learn anything about you! You don't even have a profile picture showing. FOUR Of YOU: Mingo34, MarRod, garlicbing, and gadi1357913579, all joined WOT in NOVEMEBER 2011, ON THE VERY SAME DAY! That, as far as I'm concerned, indicates that you are ALL, ONE AND THE SAME PERSON, who set up four different accounts for the purpose of shilling Facemoods/Fumoods, which is the SAME company. You also post remarks in support of other sites that have been reported as problematic, for browser exploits, spamming, and infecting peoples' computers with malware and viruses. Additionally, Funmoods is accociated with FreeRide Games. A site that offers completely free casual games, but instead bombards you with spam, and has a game player that can literally FRY your computer's video card! This game player fried the video cards on not one, but TWO of my computers! A fact that I have posted on WOT before, and got a response from FreeRide saying that I was full of it, and that their player is "Harmless", and couldn't possibly do what I described. Really, FreeRide? Seriously? So, explain why my computer, a machine that had NEVER displayed any kind of twitchiness, or had ever crashed, or had ever been infected with a virus or other malware, develops a blurry images, and freezes within seconds of my starting up your game player! I cannot afford to buy a new PC every few months, or once a year, like a lot of other people do, so, I am ALWAYS dilligent about maintenance and performing all of those little tasks that will keep your computer working efficiently long after other macines have gone belly up...things like, removing the case and using canned air to blow out all of the dust from inside, defragging once a week, clearing my registry, and deleting cookies every day, and setting the computer to delete my browser history when I shut the computer down for the day. I check monthly for junk files, and programs that I never or only rarely use, and delete them. And, I NEVER go on line without one of the world's best antivirus/anti malware programs running while I surf the web! Explain also, why a practically new PC, one built specifically for gaming, also shows a blurry display, then freezes within seconds of starting your game player? Once might be coincidence, caused by a problem within an older PC, but twice? No, never. It was definitely the game player that causd the video card to over heat and begin to melt! I had my son, who is in college working on a degree in computer engineering, check out both PCs. He examined them closely, inside and out, then removed the main drive and ran a diagnostic program. He also insists that it was badly written, poorly engineered programming within the FreeRide game player that caused my graphics cards to overheat. I'll take my son's word over yours any day of the week FreeRide! As for the rest of the people who posted here; Tamirfaith, andy_tanti, and benrecfree, all have joined WOT quite recently, and also have set your profile imformation to private. Your profile pages, too, are blank, save for the basic stuff that WOT puts there. Again, there are no profile pictures, or anything else! I can understand a strong desire to protect your information on the Internet, but listing a couple of basics on a profile page - name, month and day of your birth (I never list my birth year), gender, a generic version of your location, such as West Coast, USA, Southern Australia, Northern France, Eastern Spain, etc., a few basic interests, and some manner of profile picture. You can find literally MILLIONS of absolutely free profile picures on the web. Just right click on the ones you like and choose "save image as" or simply "save as" from the menu. None of thes things can jeopardize your privacy, and, seriously, EVERYONE likes to have a "face" to talk to, even if it is just a cartoon or a smiley face! A bit of basic info, shown on your profile, also serves to make you seem like a genuine person, and not a bot, or an alien entity, or, as in this particular instance, one person, using different Sockpuppets, to post in support of a certain company or website, which very likely is that person's employer. The poster who said that the Funmoods/Facemoods is safe and gives clear opttions for refusing the addittional software, and the ads. You have been misled. I downloaded a couple of games from Jenkat, and OPTED OUT of the Funmoods software. I played those games for a time, then, remembering that I still needed to finish some research for my website, I went back on line...and discovered that my home page had been changed to Funmoods, and Funmoods had been selected as my default search provider! I immediately went to Add/Remove in Control Panel, and found BOTH the Funmoods search bar and a Funmoods add on! I had DECLINED that software, but, there they were, anyway! I used add/remove to uninstall both, then restarted my browser. There they were again! BOTH the Funmoods search, and the Funmoods add on. Needless to say, I was angry. I used a program that my son installed on my computer, called "Hijack This!" and ran a throrough scan. When I located the Funmoods program, well hidden among a lot of other more important files, I quickly chose the option to delete it. Afterward, I restarted my computer as Hijack This! instructed. You'd be right, if you said that when I went back on line I found that the Funmoods stuff was STILL there! O Nonesuch, and Soapbox are right on the moneywhen they say this software digs it's way deep into your machine, and that it piggybacks itself on FLV.Ext. and dominates your homepage, and your default search. Funmoods DOES NOT offer "Nice Movies", Tamirfathi! It isn't "an ok site" with "cool smilies", Mingo34. It DOESN'T let you "have fun with your friends on the chat", garlicbing! It may not have any viruses/malware/trojans (by the way, a Trojan IS a virus!), and does offer some things for free, gadi1357913579 , but the !@#$%^&* software is almost impossible to remove! I also DECLINED the install, but ther it is, on my computer, all the same! By the way, WOT, what happened to the posts on page 2 by andy_tanti@hotmail.com, and benerecfree? When I looked for them, just now, I see that they have been replaced by REPRINTS of the posts by garlicbing and gadi1357913579. Those posts were there a few minutes ago. But, now I see they have been removed and replaced. What's up with that? You haven't decided to be selective about who's remarks get posted, and whose don't? Isn't that akin to "Stacking the deck?"Why did the remarks about Funmoods not having viruses, and having fun with friends in the chat " need repeating? This seems VERY hinky to me!
