UPDATE from April 2014 GitHub is now splitting into github.com & github.io. github.com will contain only official GitHub pages, while *.github.io will be for the GitHub customer sites. During this transition I would expect GitHubs'safety to improve, but until then the site remains as suspicious due to the third party customers.
