Le site giveawayoftheday.com est-il sûr ?

based from my POV, ive downloaded a lot of free  stuff. there are times when one out 10 programs were flagged as potential harmful virus, so i gave this site a marginal "i trust" rating. some people have reported this site as having malware. i have norton and ive not seen any yet.

I disagree with the previous community member, as my antivirus does not identify the mentioned program (Software Informer) as a virus. I do believe that our safety depends upon our mind and where we click on the Internet. The site is almost adds-free. As I get, from the site description, it the advertised free software offers come from actual program developers that work together with the project. I can't find noticeable weak points of the project. I find it safe.

The free software usually is a version repacked by giveawayoftheday.com staff. The package frequently contains unwanted software. One I found is called 'Software Informer' (a kind of virus). You may try to download a trial version from the original software published and install with the serial provided by giveawayoftheday.com. Sometimes this works, sometimes, don't.

Downloaded file for a give away today seems rather suspicious not being a legit installer and after a little examination seems it contains adware in the least since they have packed it muliple times and programmed it so testing in a protected enviroment is not possible i would be very cautious! Since its not a legit bitsum installer i would not trust it seems this site could be suspicious so be careful if you insist on using it

They went pretty downhill lately. They changed the voting system from not requiring reasons for positive or negative votes to requiring a reason for a negative vote but continue to allow bots to fake the positive rating by not requiring a reason for a positive vote. Knowing pretty well that some vendors there (like Aiseesoft and rebrands) use bots and proxies to actively fake the rating to push their laughable marketing and in many cases, it was obvious to anyone visiting. And that's very shady imo and a huge inequality. Then the comments, looks like they love to censor critique by not moderating, if you comment negatively on the vendor and the product in question, like pointing out certain shadiness (botusing), they simply do not let those comments thru. Also the comment rating can be faked in both directions. They don't like critique and they don't want to improve it seems, there are so many other giveaway sites, that it's no longer a place to stay and most of the things you can get there will sooner or later pop up on other giveaway sites.

'Get shareware absolutely free of charge' must be the motto of the service. All that it actually does is distributes licensed software solutions for free, still only for 24 hour period. All in all I never encountered any authoring or safety issues, that's why I've rated the site as trustful.
