Le site iprofile.org est-il sûr ?

I received an unsolicited email from this company asking to update my profile and resume (CV). The details they have are out of date but I do recollect registering with them about 5 years ago, just not why. In their support they have blocked out any detail that might be of use to anyone collecting data for spamming or ID theft. However when I tried to follow the link I saved I get an error…server not found! Just be very cautious!

I received an email from iProfile with "Thank-you for sending us your CV" in the Subject line, and "We have received your CV and have updated your iProfile for you" prominently displayed at the top of the message body. At first I assumed this was spam, since I had never heard of iProfile and had never sent them a CV. A Google search produced a lot of negative reviews from IT contractors. What seems to have happened is that I submitted a CV for a job advertised through Monster to a recruitment agency (Head Resourcing). The agency promptly uploaded the cv, or information drawn from it, to iProfile without asking my permission, and there it sits for all the agencies to view. Now this is potentially useful, except that information on the iProfile database will not necessarily be accurate or even recent. It seems to be left to the candidate to monitor and correct any inaccuracies which have been introduced by a recruitment agency, and feedback on the contractor sites indicates that iProfile often holds outdated work status information and uses old and unused email addresses. The main concern here is over the way personal information is passed around without prior permission (although I bet that you give your permission simply by using those recruitment sites : it'll be buried somewhere in the T&C sections). Oddly, when I clicked the link in the email to see what details iProfile had been provided with I couldn't get past the Sign-In page without creating an account and uploading a CV. That doesn't seem right, somehow.

Iprofile is a great idea and appears to be a safe site - based on using it at intervals over 2 years. Unfortunately I had a problem with the profile not formatting and I got basically no support from support which put me off using after Nov 2011. I will be trying it out again in my new job search.

The sites iprofile.org & ***** are the new Online CV service of Greythorn Recruitment. On 2Feb2011, I received unsolicited email from youriprofile.com, which contained links to iprofile.org, ten years after applying for a job with Greythorn Recruitment. Due to the time lag and new domain name, I had assumed it was spam. They list their full Contact details, Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
