Whilst this site is designed as a money earner for Mercola and may, on occasion set out to be controversial, giving it a poor reputation for factual content is misleading and declaring it as 'potentially harmful' is a dangerous practice. Certainly check what is said. You'll find Mercola cites his sources. Use it as a guide for further research. Adult content? Only in that children would probably find it uninteresting. Nudity? - none. Gruesome or shocking? - Possibly, in that it highlights some of the disgraceful practices that industry is getting away with. Potentially malicious? - I've never found a virus on his site or malware of any sort. Factual content? There are some examples of 'conspiracy theories' which could be investigated further. Perhaps Mercola could improve by drawing attention to those who question these. Those who censor sites like this are NOT doing the world a favor.

Yes, he goes overboard with his headlines, and does oversell fear, but those are minor issues compared to the wealth of knowledge he offers. Scrupulously documented. Try following his advice and you will see the difference in your own life.

Most of the opinions on this site are backed up by solid scientific research. Mercola is ahead of his time, for example he warned about the dangers of Vioxx more than 10 years before it was pulled from the market due to a massive risk of death by heart attack and stroke. Pharmaceutical company Merk was ordered to pay $4.85 billion in payouts to patients who suffered heart attacks and strokes.

Both my mother and I have been reading and watching documentaries about health, the medical industry, vaccinations, and diet for many years now.  This site has much of the same information as the other "alternative" or natural health sites and documentaries.  I don't recall seeing any advertisements or links to the sale of any medications/supplements or such on any of the articles I've read.  I have looked into the info on the BBB site and did a search about Dr. Mercola, from what I've read, it seems to me that he is being targeted for speaking out against the medical community and big pharma.  Do your research before spreading damaging rumors.

Joseph Mercola uses his medical degree in order to justify unscientific supplements and medical advice. He pushes product for profit and makes unfounded claims about conventional allopathic medical practices. He is akin to Dr. Oz and other pseudo-scientists that prefer profit over sound science and helping people.
